Pastor Dr. Rondo Thomas M.Th., D.D.
Prior to receiving his credentials, Dr. Thomas was enlisted in the Canadian Air Force. In 1965 he entered fulltime ministry and left for the high arctic as a missionary in 1969. Since returning from the arctic, Dr. Thomas has spent the last 45 years pastoring churches in the GTA and founded Lakeside (formerly Toronto Christian Centre) in 1983. Today he also serves as Vice President and Professor at Canada Christian College.
Marlene Thomas B.C.C.
Marlene is the wife of Dr. Rondo Thomas and has served alongside him for over 50 years. She spent many years teaching and coordinating Sunday school classes. Marlene presently serves as the fellowship coordinator in addition to many other duties within the church.
Associate Pastor Rev. Mark Shorten B.Th.
Mark has been serving as Worship Leader at Lakeside since 1997. After receiving his theology degree from Canada Christian College and ordination with the Evangelical Association in 2018, Mark accepted the position of Associate Pastor. Pastor Mark continues to lead worship at LCC while also assisting in pulpit ministry and other areas including church administration.
Board Members
Harold Barrett
Harold has served on the board of Lakeside for over 30 years. He is a faithful member and donates his time in many ways to help the church congregation. Presently, he works with the worship team coordinating and operating the audio equipment. Outside of the church, Harold is the owner/operator of a small delivery company.
Karen Barrett
Karen has served for over 30 years on the board of Lakeside Christian Centre. She spent many years working with children in the Sunday School department. She now works in the area of audio/visual, supporting our worship department. Outside of the church, Karen is active working with seniors and spends time as a fitness instructor.
